The “Montra das Artes & Ofícios” brings 18 exhibitors to downtown Coimbra next Sunday. Visitors will be able to appreciate products linked to the arts and crafts, thus discovering heritage through the art of creating handmade objects, with the opportunity to observe live work and learn about the different stages of making a handmade piece.
The event features weaving from Almalaguês and tableware from Coimbra, products of Coimbra origin, but also from other areas that fall within the scope of craft production, such as ceramics, leather, wooden utensils or pieces made using gourds and other materials harvested from nature.
This edition of the event will include, in the morning, presentations by the Filarmónica União Taveirense, at 11h00, and Motivos Alternativos – Associação Cultural, with the presence of musician Carlos Raposo, at 12h00. At 3pm, the Clube de Tempos Livres de Santa Clara will present a concert by the children who attend its music workshops. The Imperial TAFFUC – Tuna Académica da Faculdade de Farmácia da Universidade de Coimbra will be promoting Coimbra roots and academic music, with a performance scheduled for 16:30.
The initiative, organized by Coimbra City Council, has as partners the Agency for the Promotion of Downtown Coimbra, CoimbraMaisFuturo and CEARTE – Professional Training Centre for Handicrafts and Heritage.
